Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how TekDot POS (“TekDot”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites and apps, including our website www.tekdotpos.com, restaurant-specific TekDot URLs under it, and the POS, Waiter, Kitchen Display, Reservation, QR Menu, and Boss Reports apps. For how we handle personal data in general, see our Privacy Policy.

In short

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies — localStorage, sessionStorage, and service worker caches — that store information in your browser. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these.

2. Types of cookies we use

Strictly necessary

Required for login, security, and the POS to work. These are always on, because the Services cannot work without them.

Preferences

Remember choices you make so you don’t have to repeat them.

Performance & offline

What we don’t use

We do not use advertising, retargeting, or social-media tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics trackers on our website.

3. Cookies and storage in detail

Name / type Purpose Category Duration
PHP session cookie (PHPSESSID) Keeps you logged in to TekDot POS and related apps Strictly necessary Session, or longer if your restaurant keeps staff signed in
tekdot-cookie-consent Remembers your cookie banner choice so we don’t ask again Strictly necessary Until cleared (localStorage)
tekdot-lang / tekdot-ui-lang Remembers your language Preferences Until cleared (localStorage)
Restaurant app storage Restaurant link for Waiter / Kitchen devices, install-prompt dismissal, UI settings Strictly necessary / Preferences Until cleared
reserve_geofence_* (guest apps) Random device ID and “already greeted” flags so a guest isn’t greeted twice, when the restaurant uses Geofence Preferences Until cleared / end of browser session
Service worker cache Stores app files for fast loading and the offline screen Performance Until the app updates or you clear site data
Third-party providers Font, icon, and map providers may receive your IP address and set their own cookies when their files load Performance Controlled by those providers

4. Third-party providers

Our pages may load files from these providers, who receive your IP address and browser details under their own policies:

5. Cookie banner & location

Essential only

We save your choice and use only strictly necessary and preference storage. We do not ask for your location and do not send a visitor notification.

Accept

Your browser may ask for permission to share your location. If you allow it, we send a notification to our internal team containing:

We use this to understand which countries and cities our visitors come from and to follow up on sales enquiries in your area. If you deny the location prompt, we receive your IP address and choice only. You can turn location off at any time in your browser settings.

6. Location in guest apps

If a restaurant turns on Geofence, its Reservation app or QR Menu may ask the guest for location permission. The location is checked on the guest’s device to show a welcome or thank-you message, or to allow ordering only at the venue. When the guest arrives, the restaurant receives one arrival notification with the location and distance so staff can greet them. We do not build a location history. Guests can refuse location permission and still view the menu.

7. Managing your choices

8. Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. If we start using a new type of non-essential cookie, we will ask for your choice again.
