How to merge orders into one bill
Two tables decided to pay together, or friends joined the group? Merge their orders so everything is on one bill.
Merging cannot be undone. Open the order that should keep the bill (its table and order number stay), then merge the other one into it.
Step 1: Open the order to keep and tap Merge Table
Open the order that should keep the combined bill, and tap Merge Table on the left. The button shows when there is another open order to merge with.
- 1Merge Table.
Step 2: Choose the other order and tap Merge Orders
All other open orders are listed with their table and total. Tap the one to combine into this order, then tap Merge Orders.
- 1The order to merge in — here table 10.
- 2Its total ($9.00) will be added to this bill.
- 3Tap Merge Orders.
Step 3: Check and tap Confirm Merge
TekDot shows exactly what will happen. Merging cannot be undone, so check the table numbers.
- 19 and 10 become one order.
- 2The other order (table 10) is closed and its table becomes free. All its items move to table 9.
- 3Tap Confirm Merge.
Step 4: One bill with everything
The order you kept now has all the items and one total. Take payment as usual.
- 1Still table 9, same order number.
- 2Combined total: $31.25 ($22.25 + $9.00).
Orders merged
Everything is on one bill and the other table is free again.
Common questions
Which order keeps its number?
The order you opened first — the one you tapped Merge Table on. The other order is closed.
Can I merge two orders on the same table?
Yes. Orders on the same table are listed with a Same table badge.
I merged by mistake
A merge cannot be undone, but you can use Split Order to move items back onto a separate bill.
I don't see the Merge Table button
It only appears when the order has items and there is at least one other open order to merge with.
